Originally installed in the 1940’s to warn of Potential Japanese attack, then later used during the Cold War to alert possible Nuclear Attack. Over 75% of the over 200 plus Air Raid Sirens still remain, many of them still hooked up to existing power. Despite many being removed during new construction, many remain with little or no notice by residents and visitors to the greater L.A. area. These are a few that I’ve found while walking around Downtown. Enjoy!
